Overview

Nestled in the heart of Adelaide at 9A Compton St, Daebak Brothers stands out as a vibrant Korean eatery that masterfully combines authentic flavors with a welcoming atmosphere. This restaurant brings the heat with its famed Original Tteokbokki, a dish praised for its chewy rice cakes bathed in a rich, spicy, and creamy rosé sauce that clings to every bite. The option to add extra toppings like glass noodles and kimari elevates the experience, making each visit unique.

Daebak Brothers’ signature corn dogs have garnered a dedicated following. Crispy on the outside and satisfying inside, they pair beautifully with the restaurant’s beloved sweet and spicy chicken wings, which strike a delightful balance of sticky sweetness and bold spice. The 12-piece fried chicken also commands attention—crispy, hot, and perfectly sauced—though it does require a little patience due to its made-to-order freshness.

Ambiance plays a significant role here. The spacious interior caters well to groups and individuals alike, while the shaded outdoor seating offers an inviting space for relaxed dining, especially in the evenings. The casual yet efficient service, often highlighted by customers, contributes to a friendly yet quick-paced experience that never feels rushed.

Daebak Brothers appeals primarily to lovers of classic Korean street food, casual diners, and those seeking comforting, homey meals with a modern twist. Its menu caters to those who crave big flavors, generous portions, and a social dining vibe. Whether you’re after a cozy night with friends or a quick bite packed with authentic taste, this spot captures the essence of Korean cuisine with flair.

The tteokbokki was spicy and chewy, with a rich sauce that stuck to each piece. The wings were sweet, sticky. The staff was young, friendly, and gave fast service, everything came out quickly. The pickled radish was cool and refreshing, balancing the bold flavors.

Very tasty and big. The woman taking the order was very efficient and the wait was only about 15 minutes. A huge cheese pull and a bunch of watchers highly recommend especially since a lot of people had no idea about it and generally seemed interested in it. The cheese was godly unless that's just my cheese addiction speaking

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! I always go here whenever I want some real cozy and home-y food. The food always tastes full of flavour and if you sit in the outside seating area at night, the atmosphere is unmatched. Every single food item is good no miss at all, but wait time for food can be long (but worth it). The prices are very reasonable too and you normally feel full or end up over ordering since the portions are so well sized. Best corn dogs and in town and they have the creamiest rose tteokbokki so definitely recommend.

This is my go to place when I am craving Korean food! The corn dogs are very crispy and the rosé tteokbokki is very creamy and rich in flavour! I love that you can add extra toppings such as glass noodles and kimari. The service was also impeccable.

Me and my friends went here. It was an amazing place, we had tteobokki and fried chicken, they gave us clear plastic gloves to use and it was overall a great experience. The tteobokki was chewy, there were fish cakes in there, the fried chicken was amazing as it was extremely crispy, piping hot and the sauce was amazing and flavourful. There’s plenty of seating space indoors, and there’s even an outdoor area too, with toilets and more seats. It is under shade. The only bad thing about the restaurant was that the fried chicken took around 30 minutes to arrive. This may be so because it was quite busy, but the wait was worth it as the fried chicken and tteobokki was amazing.

It’s unbelievable how amazing everything is here. I have been here countless times and the quality remains amazing. The chicken is juicy and flavourful, the rose tteokbokki is creamy and delicious, and the croffles are incredible! (like seriously they are one of my favourite deserts in Adelaide) There is also a great selection of drinks. Everything is just wonderful. Food comes out quickly and gets eaten even quicker – its just that good! A great place to grab a bite alone or with friends. The experience is wonderful with friendly staff, a nice atmosphere, and the option for indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely recommend!

Always a go-to for me! I highly recommend the cheesy sausage K-Dog—the combo of gooey cheddar, savory sausage, and that crispy golden batter is just perfect. The light sugar coating on the outside balances the salty flavors beautifully without making it too sweet—seriously addictive. The Korean fried chicken wings are another must-try—crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. And don’t skip the tteokbokki—it’s rich, spicy, and tastes truly authentic.
